Get into the Habit of Being Fit
Staying fit in our busy world can be hard. Work can be draining and the long hours taxing on your free time. For those who work a lot, exercise programs are usually the first activity to go. This year, bring exercising back to top priority. You may not realise it, but excercising daily actually makes you more productive, helps you sleep better and feel better. You'll even accomplish more things throughout the day, naturally! There is an area YMCA near you in Dallas Ft. Worth. Join the gym, get a trial membership.
The main reason to lose weight is NOT for appearance, but for health. Nearly 112,000 deaths per year may be attributable to obesity, and that's a scary number! So kick out those oily meals, greese up the treadmill and lose some weight! You CAN beat that battle of the buldge, just remember, losing weight is a marathon, not a sprint. You will feel better over time and be healthier. Looking slimmer is just a bonus.
Enjoy Life More
Figure out what you like to do, then do it, and often. Find success in the things that give you enjoyment and take it to the next level! If you enjoy reading, how about reading an autobiography, or a biography of an author? What inspires them to write? How do they make time for it? Perhaps you can be a writer too...
After the morning of January 1, it's not surprising that you wish you drank less. The big question is, will it last another 364 days? Drinking less is good for you, great for your health, and probably your reputation too. Drink less and your brain, body and wallet will love you.
Get Out of Debt
We get it. 2008 hurt a lot of people and a record number of people across america turned to credit cards and home equity loans just to stay afloat. Make a determined effort this year to cut back on your debt. The reduction will have to be slow and steady, but you have to start somewhere, right? So start the new year with the first step to a debt free new you.
Ciggarettes. How often do you do things just so you can have a cigarette? Does it control your life? In 2013, STOP SMOKING! Your cravings for nicotine can be controled. Join a step program, try stop smoking aids like Nicorette gum, or the patch. Whatever you do, just kick the habit. Remember, smoking is unattractive, they make your clothes smell, and over time it will kill you.
Spend More Time With Family
Your mother, she gave birth to you. Your Dad, he put up with you. This year, at least one day a week sit down for a meal with your family. Eat together, talk together, and enjoy each others company. Nurture the foundation you built those years long ago because the rewards are immesurable. Never forget, you only have one family. Never take them for granted.
Help People / Volunteer.
Volunteering is one of the few things in life that can be given for free, without financial gain, and by choice. Helping others in a way that benefits society is an essential component of democracy, so why not give back a little something in 2013 to make up for all you took in 2012?
There is a whole big wide world out there, go see it! It doesn't matter if you drive to the next state over, or back pack through Europe for a month. The bottom line is that there is a big world out there with billions of people in it and hundreds of different cultures waiting to be expereienced. If life isn't about new and exciting experiences, then what's the point? Enjoy our beautiful world. Travel!
