To unveil their new multimedia direction, Myspace is using a familiar face: Justin Timberlake, the company's co-owner.

In an announcement that kicked off the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on Monday night, Timberlake discussed how the social networking site is rebranding to include real-time television and online discussion. "The future of Myspace is about what you’re going to do. About who you’re going to become," he said in a brief presentation. "Myspace TV is the first foray into that future."

Myspace TV will encompass the site's library of 42 million songs and 100,000 music videos, and it will enable instant communication about them between friends.

"We're ready to take television and entertainment to the next step by upgrading it to the social networking experience," said Timberlake. "Why text or email your friends to talk about your favorite programs after they've aired when you could be sharing the experience with real-time interactivity from anywhere across the globe?"

The service will expand eventually to include reality TV and sports channels, in partnership with Panasonic. Myspace's partners clearly hope that it will revive the once-enormous networking site by offering a communal experience and technological immediacy that its chief rival, Facebook, cannot provide.

"As the plot of your favorite drama unfolds, the joke of your favorite SNL character plays or even the last-second shot of your favorite team swishes the net, we're giving you the opportunity to connect your friends to your moments as they're actually occurring. This is the evolution of one of our greatest inventions, the television," said Timberlake.

Bruno Mars has always seemed like an open and honest person as far as the celebrity world goes, and when he pled guilty to the cocaine charges he faced last year– that opened up people’s eyes to the person that acknowledged a mistake and made a vow to turn things around.

Mars even opens up about his humble times as being dropped from Motown Records. And then – now I have to say I got dropped from Motown Records.”

Long before she sang about “Sk8r Boi,” Avril Lavrigne was a skater girl.

The goal-oriented Canadian hit the ice not long after she learned to walk, and by age 10 she was playing in the boys’ hockey league in her small town of Napanee, Ontario. She went on to play for the girls’ hockey and baseball teams at Napanee District High School.

But at age 16, she hung up her skates after signing a recording contract, and by 17 she had broken onto the music scene with her debut album, “Let Go.” It sold 16 million copies and catapulted her to international stardom.

The 27-year-old pop-punk princess, who is scheduled for three shows over the next two weeks, took a break to tell us what happens when the gloves come off.

ESPNHS: What was it like growing up in a hotbed for ice hockey?

AVRIL LAVIGNE: My dad had me on ice skates in the backyard pond when I was 2 years old. Everyone plays hockey [where I’m from]. I grew up at the hockey arena because my older brother, Matthew (who’s now 28), played so I wanted to play. I would watch his games while wearing his jersey and cheering on the side with pompoms. Having him to look up to made me to want play sports.

ESPNHS: Did you play both ice and street hockey?

AL: I played ice hockey on a team; street hockey for fun. I did Novice, Atom, Pee Wee ice hockey. When I got to Pee Wee at age 10, I started playing with the boys. I [earned] MVP honors two years in a row as a right wing. In high school, I returned to girls’ ice hockey and started pitching for the girls’ baseball team. One year, we won a tournament and I got a purple trophy for my pitching. I still have it in my bedroom trunk.

ESPNHS: What was your fave ice hockey move back then?

AL: I worked on my wrist shot and slap shot a lot. One time I had a breakaway in a game and scored. My dad caught it on tape. That was probably my big shining moment. I also remember getting into fights with the goalies and hearing cheers from the moms [in the stands] because I was the only girl. Whenever I’d get punched by a guy, I’d always punch back. The gloves came off!

ESPNHS: Most embarrassing moment on the ice?

AL: You know at the end of a game when you line up and say “good game” [to the opposing players]? When I was 10, a girl on the other team pushed me because I was the only girl on my team. I fell because I was on my skates and didn’t expect it. Later, I waited for her outside her dressing room to talk. We made up.

ESPNHS: Do you still play?

AL: On tour, I bring my Rollerblades to play street hockey — usually with my brother. People in Los Angeles aren’t as into hockey, but they surf and skateboard. I was big into skateboarding when I was in high school; I did all the tricks and stuff. Now I just ride. I can’t afford to break my leg.

ESPNHS: Where do you surf?

AL: Australia, the Bahamas, Hawaii. There’s actually a video of me surfing in Australia. YouTube it: “Avril Surfing in Australia at Manly Beach.”

ESPNHS: Would you ever do a show on Rollerblades?

AL: People have brought it up, but I prefer to do cartwheels on stage.

Bruno Mars’ mantra these days seems to be “Don’t Give Up.”

The part Puerto Rican singer took to Sesame Street to spread his message about staying positive and he had the help of some cute children's characters.

Mars, who won the “Favorite pop/rock male” award last weekend at the American Music Awards, joins Colombian celebs Juanes and Sofía Vergara in making an appearance on Sesame Street earlier this year.

Both Juanes and Vergara joined forces for a commemorative Sesame Street episode highlighting Hispanic Heritage month celebrated in the United States from September 15 - October 15.

In the episode Juanes sings along with Elmo and Rosita while teaching them the Spanish words for hands, feet and head, while Vergara conversed with Elmo about the word “baile” (dance.)

Mars says “when you want to do something that’s new, and it seems it’s really hard to do, you feel like quitting, you feel you’re through. Well I got some advice for you don’t give up.” Elmo, Rosita, Zoe, and Cookie Monster all chime in as background singers.

The “Just the Way You Are” singer wasn’t always been a picture perfect  role model.

Mars, whose real name is Peter Gene Hernández, was caught red handed last September and busted for cocaine possession at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

He plead guilty to the charge in February and was fined $2,000 as well as assigned community service hours and drug counseling in Los Angeles.

Looking back on the incident now, the singer reflects on what to do:

“I've learned people are watching,” Mars told GQ. “So don't do nothing stupid."

For the finale of the 2011 American Music Awards, LMFAO took to the stage for their hit "Sexy and I Know It." The performance included the two members, Redfoo and Sky Blu gyrating around while stripping their clothes off until they were wearing nothing but small boxer shorts with smiley faces on the crotch.

But that is not all! There was also a crotch-centric "wiggle offf" between the backup dancers, Justin Bieber joined in in a sleeveless black shirt and some black and gold striped Zubaz pants, and at the very end, David Hasselhoff and Keenan Cahill were there. Because the performance hadn't been weird enough yet.

Watching David Hasselhoff gyrate around in tiny boxer shorts is pretty much the pinnacle of any awards show ever, right? Top that, Oscars. Video below.
